At the age of 89, Dorothy passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Born on July 10, 1936, to the late Katrarzyna (nee Skiba) and the late Michael Kuzina, she embraced a life filled with love and family. Dorothy dedicated many years of her life working in the retail area at Sattler’s, The Sample Shop, and The Hallmark Store Downtown. She held a particular fondness for traveling by car to Atlantic City where she enjoyed playing the slots at the casinos, as well as indulging in shopping. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment watching them grow.

Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend, Alfred Domaniewski, who passed away on January 18, 2019.

Her legacy continues through her loving children, Debra (late Joseph) Sobkowich of Mentor, Ohio, and David (Nancy) Domaniewski; her cherished grandchildren, Stephen (Megan) Sobkowich and Shannon Domaniewski; and her adored great-grandchildren, Liam, Landon, and Lilliana.

She was the dear sister of the late Frank (late Dorothy) Kuzina, late Joseph (late Bernice) Kozina, late Irene (late Richard) Jankowski, and late Jennie (late Joseph) Kicinski. Her sisters-in-law, the late Eleanora (late John) Budney and late Theresa (late Zigmund) Gontarek, also preceded her in death.

Dorothy is survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as her dear friend Millie Wantuck.

The family will be present on Monday, July 14, 2025 from 4-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem). Relatives and friends are invited to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church (2158 Clinton Street) Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 9:30 AM.

Burial will take place at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, in Cheektowaga, NY.

Dorothy’s warmth and love will be remembered by all who knew her. We invite you to honor her memory by sharing a picture in our online Photo Album or a favorite memory in our Guest Book on the Tribute page.
