Anthony J. Vanni, 95, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025, at OLP Nursing Care Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the beloved son of the late Raffaele and Ersilia (Manoricca) Vanni; and the loving husband of Catherine A. “Kaye” (Previte) Vanni, whom he married at Mt. Carmel Church on September 25, 1954.
Anthony graduated from Niagara Falls High School and honorably served in the United States Army. A dedicated professional, he spent over 34 years at M&T Bank, and retired as an Assistant Vice President. Outside the office, Anthony was known for his god given talent for construction and love for golfing. A skilled bowler, he achieved a perfect 300 game at the remarkable age of 82. He also enjoyed playing bocce. Above all, Anthony cherished the time spent with his family.
In addition to his wife of 70 years, Mr. Vanni is survived by his children, Rick (Diane) Vanni, Kim (Mark) Gaines and Kara (Joseph) Serianni; his grandchildren, Nina Vanni, Nicole (fiancé Mark Taylor) Vanni, Jennifer (Kevin) McGrogan, Heather (Michael) Murawski, Ashley Serianni and Christina Serianni; his great-grandchildren, Nathan, Gracie, Garrett and Gerald; one sister, Mary (late Ret. Lt. Col. William) Goldfein, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Anthony was predeceased by three siblings, Joseph Vanni, Anita (late Anthony) Cadille and Carmela (late Frank) Abate.
Anthony’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 5 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY 14092. The family will receive friends from 10:30 – 11:00 AM. Military honors and entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial offerings may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at stjude.org.
