Newcomers Crown Of Karsus dropped their debut ep containing 6 blistering tracks over 25 minutes of run time. They have a groovy, slightly technical presence with some serious chops all around. The riffs are brutal, engaging, occasionally melodic and some solid solos that pop up. The vocals are extremely low, vomit inducing and very engaging. If you want a groovier tech band that sits in pockets, Crown Of Karsus is recommended around these parts.
The drums are very groovy, yet have some interesting fills. The style is very complimentary to their songs, never dominating the songs or overstaying its welcome. How many drummers are too flashy and can’t hold great grooves? Safe to say that’s not the case here. There’s some slick bass lines to beef up this heavy sound,
The whole release was a heavy, interesting, progressive experience. There’s some clean guitar and keyboard tracks thrown in on occasion as well. It’s a well rounded, solid start for Crown Of Karsus. Metalheada need to flock to this release and give it a shot. It definitely appeals to many different metalheads and we suggest this EP.
