Hello Metalheads! This is John back with another album review! This time I bring to you the new album from Scordatura called Led into Oblivion via Everlasting Spew Records! These Scottish lads brought their incredible brand of old school death metal to a grand level.
As soon as the introduction track ends the listener is met with extremely angry, brutal and down right heavy death metal. This continues through the entire album and punishes at every turn. To say that this album rips is an understatement.
The stand out track on Led into Oblivion in my opinion is A Manic Indoctrination. The track starts off with this super slow and groovy riff that is very few and far between on the album and is a nice pallet cleanser. This changes almost two minutes in and brings back the brutality! The highlight of the track is the straight up chugging riff at the 2:40 mark and the subsequent almost breakdown that ends the track.
Led into Oblivion is one of my favorite death metal releases from 2026 so far. On my personal scale this is a 9/10 easily. As always don’t forget to check out Scordatura, stream the album and even buy it if you like it! Links will be below!
