Guy A. Bax, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Uril) Bax.

Guy graduated from Niagara Falls High School and went on to earn both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Sociology from Buffalo State College.

On February 12, 1966, he married the love of his life, Mary L. Bax, at the former Sacred Heart Church.

Guy dedicated many years of service as the Chief Building Inspector for the City of Niagara Falls. Beyond his professional life, he was deeply committed to giving back to his community. He was influential in supporting youth through the Niagara Knights program at the YMCA, and running a teen center for inner city youth at various Churches, helping to shape and inspire future generations.

Guy enjoyed golfing, as well as writing. He also cherished the times traveling with his wife. Above all, his greatest joy was found in family 

gatherings and the time he spent with his grandchildren, who were the center of his world.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary in 2024, and his two siblings, Leona Bax Schaller and Leo Bax.

Guy is survived by his children, Anthony L. Bax (Sabrina), Stephanie L. (Rob) Chandler Bax and Guy C. (Stacy) Bax; his grandchildren, Luca F. Bax, Savino A. Bax and Carmine F. Bax, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 19 from 10 – 12 Noon at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 12 Noon. Interment will be held privately in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at stjude.org.
