Dawn E. Kupiec, 75, of Wheatfield, NY, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Pearl (Burns) Siegrist.
A graduate of the former LaSalle Senior High School, Dawn began her career at the LaSalle Library, where she worked for several years following graduation. On June 17, 1972, she married the love of her life, Richard Kupiec, at St. John de LaSalle Church, where she remained a parishioner throughout her life.
Dawn worked as the office manager at Twin Fair in Niagara Falls until its closing. Once her children were in school, she returned to the workforce and spent over 20 years as an instructional associate at Orleans-Niagara BOCES, where she played a pivotal role in guiding and educating children who had special needs or challenging home environments, offering them the stability and encouragement they needed.
A 25-year lymphoma survivor, Dawn was a source of strength and compassion for others facing illness, always offering love and support to help them persevere. She was known for her selflessness, consistently putting the needs of others before her own.
Dawn had a passion for arts and crafts and especially loved sewing, creating everything from purses to Halloween costumes. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and roller skating. She was an excellent cook and baker, and her family cherished the time spent together during holidays and special gatherings.
Above all, Dawn lived for her family. Her patient, kind, and caring nature will forever be remembered by her family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband of 53 years, Dawn is survived by her children, Jason (Diane) Kupiec and Jessica (Matthew) Kerr; her grandchildren, Jacob, Siena and Olivia; her siblings, Linda (late Greg) McGahey and Tom (Mary) Siegrist, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13 from 3 – 7: 15 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will be held at 7:15 PM.
