
Sharon Benavidez, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harry Sr. and Alice (Burden) Hansen.
A graduate of the former Madonna High School, Sharon began her career at Marine Midland Bank in Niagara Falls. In her early twenties, she ventured west to California, where she continued working in the banking industry. Her journey later led her to Colorado, where she spent many years in management at AAA.
In 2011, Sharon returned to her hometown to be closer to her siblings. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. John de LaSalle Church, actively participating in the Altar and Rosary Society. She also cherished her involvement with the Niagara Women’s Club, where she found community and camaraderie.
Sharon was an avid sports fan, with a deep love for the Colorado Rockies, Denver Broncos, and Buffalo Bills. She found joy in reading and solving crossword puzzles. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family.
Sharon is survived by four siblings, Trish (late Roland) Crossley, Mary (late John) Ashline, Paul (late Vikki) Hansen and Catherine (Kirk) Crossley and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was sadly predeceased by her brother, Harry Hansen Jr.
