In loving memory, we remember Ija, a cherished homemaker whose life was marked by unwavering dedication to her family and loved ones.

Ija is reunited with her parents, Alla (nee Dmitrijeva) and Ivan Jakovlevo, and her husband Gleb Demjanenko.

She is survived by her treasured children Victor (Anne) Demjanenko, Michael (Melissa) Demjanenko, Elizabeth (Benedict) Smith, and Catherine (Bill) Sitzman. 

Her legacy continues through her loving grandchildren Carolyn Demjanenko, Stephen (Theresa) Demjanenko, James (Karolina) Vanderpool, Joseph Demjanenko, Timothy Demjanenko, Peter Demjanenko, Christina (Matthew) Seaman, Nicholas Smith, Brett Sitzman, and Brienna Sitzman, as well as her dear great-grandchildren Samuel, Selma, Sierra, and Cameryn.

She will also be fondly remembered as the dearest sister-in-law of Boris (late Tamara) Demjanenko.

Family will gather to honor her memory on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 4-7 PM at the Pietszak Funeral Home, located at 2400 William St. Cheektowaga, NY 14206, where a Memorial Service will follow at 7 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to join for a Funeral Service at Sts. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church, 45 Ideal Street, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 10 AM.

Burial will follow at St. Matthew’s Cemetery in West Seneca, New York.

The family asks all who knew Ija to leave a message in the Guest Book or upload a photo to the Online Photo Album. These memories will serve as a cherished reminder of the love and joy she brought into the world.
