Theresa D. Volante, 95, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025 at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Laura (Scrufari) Corsaro.
A lifelong resident of the city, Theresa was raised in Niagara Falls and attended local schools. On February 25, 1950, she married Anthony Volante at St. Joseph’s Church. Mr. Volante predeceased her on April 19, 2005 after 55 years of marriage.
Theresa was employed for 35 years in the Business Office of New York Telephone Company in Niagara Falls, retiring in 1984. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, and trips to the casino. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, Marlene (Norman) Suess, Liana (John) DeDario, and Alisa (Ned) Schwabel; her grandchildren, Danae (David) Robertson, Julie (Erik) Olander, Anthony (Stacy) Suess, Bryan (Ariadne) DeDario, Kelly DeDario, Michael (Amy) Dunlap, and Megan (Brian) Guckert; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Antoinette (late Daniel) Benton; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Betty (late Hans) Witjes, Nancy (late Ralph) Orsi, Eugene (Geri) Corsaro, and Carol (late Bill) Penque.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29 from 9:30 – 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301, where Theresa’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Private entombment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org. Arrangements by M.J.
