Senior Bella Mosquera posted a match-high 15 kills on 25 swings and sophomore Emma Isroff put down 14 kills to go with three service aces to help lead Canisius to a 3-0 sweep over Manhattan in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference volleyball action Friday night at the Draddy Gymnasium in Riverdale, N.Y. The Golden Griffins won the match with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-23.

Canisius snapped a three-match skid with the road victory, improving to 5-11 overall and 3-3 in the MAAC, while Manhattan fell to 2-13 overall and 0-6 in league action with its sixth-straight loss.

Mosquera, who has not posted double-digit kills in eight-straight outings, finished the night with a .520 hitting percentage and she was also credited with two block assists. Isroff hit .444 for the match and recorded seven digs in the winning effort for the Blue and Gold, while redshirt-sophomore Julia Lenik and freshman Madi Cowan added eight kills, apiece. Senior setter Ella Bourque recorded 44 assists and junior libero Brenda Reynaga added 15 digs and a pair of aces, as the Griffs extended their win streak over Manhattan to 16-straight meetings.

For Manhattan, Hanna Kaczynska led the Jaspers with 13 kills while Fiona VanDyke posted 10 kills and 10 digs.

In the first set, Mosquera had seven kills on seven swings and Bourque dished out 14 assists as the Griffs scored the 25-23 set victory. With the score tied at 23-23, Isroff and Mosquera combined to put down back-to-back kills to seal the set-victory for Canisius. The Griffs took a 2-0 advantage in the match after taking set two, 25-21. In a set that featured zero ties and no lead changes, Isroff was good for six kills in the stanza.

In the third set, Canisius trailed 23-22 late in the frame before a kill by Isroff knotted the score at 23-23. Canisius was able to secure the three-set sweep thanks to a pair of Manhattan attack errors that gave the Blue and Gold the 25-23 victory.
