Domenico A. Buzzeo, 91, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025 at Our Lady of Peace Health Care Facility surrounded by his loving family. Born in Settefratti, Italy, he was the son of the late Michele and Assunta (Socci) Buzzeo.
Domenico came to the United States in 1953. He married Clara (Frattaroli) Buzzeo on January 14, 1956, and together they built a life rooted in family, tradition, and hard work. Domenico was employed for over 35 years with National Lead Industries, which later became TAM Ceramics in Niagara Falls, NY, where he worked as a laborer, forklift and crane operator. He proudly served as a Union Steward and Safety Representative, always advocating for his coworkers.
Known for his warm spirit and tireless energy, Domenico, or as his close friends and family knew him as “Arky”, was an avid hunter and trout fisherman, enjoyed making homemade wine and cooking, dinner dances, gardening, Sunday dinners, playing bocce with his Florida family, and going on walks. His love for life and devotion to family were evident in everything he did.
In addition to his wife of 69 years, Clara Buzzeo, he is survived by his children, Anthony (Catherine Wilder) Buzzeo, Maria (Maurizio) Paonessa, and Jerry (Beth) Buzzeo; grandchildren, Matthew Buzzeo, Christopher Buzzeo, Gabrielle Paonessa, Adriana Paonessa, Marcanthony Paonessa (Trista Nichols), Michael Buzzeo, Julia Buzzeo, and Alexander Buzzeo; great-granddaughter, Eliana Paonessa; sisters, Antoinette Lanni (late Giustino) and Maria Bianco (Mike); brothers, Mario Buzzeo (late Elisena) and John Buzzeo (late Linda); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers Jesse Buzzeo (Wendy) and Gino Buzzeo (Loretta).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 5 at 11:30 AM at St. Peter R.C. Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY. Everyone please assemble at the church. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
