Brent Anthony Curcio, Ret. Capt, NFFD, 59, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on June 22, 2025, after a brief illness. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, he was the son of Darya (nee Sincavage) (Allen) Vailllancourt and the late Barry Curcio.
Brent was a 1984 graduate of Niagara Catholic High School. On September 1, 1990, he married the love of his life, Sheila J. (McDonald) Curcio, at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church.
Together, Brent and Sheila owned and operated LaSalle Shoe Repair, serving the community for many years. Their shop was not just a business but a neighborhood staple on Buffalo Avenue.
Brent also proudly served with the Niagara Falls Fire Department for 30 years, beginning his career in 1993 and retiring with the rank of Captain. He was a natural leader and mentor, known for guiding and supporting new firefighters. His legacy lives on through the many rookies he mentored who went on to become Captains themselves.
Outside of work, Brent was an avid boater who cherished warm-weather days spent on the water. He could often be found aboard his boat, Sunny and 80 II, anchored at Sunken Island, surrounded by close friends and family. He was the life of the party—always ready with a joke, a story, or a legendary tall tale.
In addition to his mother, Brent is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sheila Curcio; his daughter Hayley (Wes) Bush; his son Joseph Stoll; his grandson Weston Bush; his siblings Kryston (Michael) Grives and Tyson (Danielle) Curcio; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304. Brent’s Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 10 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Everyone please assemble at church. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
