
Richard J. Marino, 85, of Ransomville, NY, passed away on June 19, 2025, under the brief care of Niagara Hospice while surrounded by his family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Louis D., Sr. and Mary E. (Piela) Marino.
Richard was a 1957 graduate of Niagara Falls High School. On October 19,1963, he married the love of his life, Barbara J. (Oset) Marino at St. John de LaSalle Roman Catholic Church. Richard was employed as a Carpenter and later as an Assistant Business Agent with Carpenter’s Local 280 in Niagara County for over 32 years until his retirement in 1997. He cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, especially when they were younger. He enjoyed logic puzzles and games using his iPad.
Richard was a member of the National Rifle Association, a life member of the North American Fishing Club, and of the Niagara County Sportsman’s Association. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, attending gun raffles, and crafting carpentry projects. He was actively involved with Niagara Pioneer Soccer League having served as president. He was a coach and licensed referee for the house league and travel league.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, Richard is survived by his children, Marcy Marino, Richard Marino, Tracy Monteleone, Jamie (Prospero) Tabone; his grandchildren, Tiegan Monteleone, Collin Monteleone, Logan Monteleone, Grace Tabone, and Joseph Tabone; his siblings, Joanne Marino McGreevy, Esq., Louis D. (Linda) Marino, Jr., Lucia (Raymond) McGovern, and Mary Jo (late Joe) Meli, as well as by several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was sadly predeceased by his grandson, Mason Sawyer Monteleone, as well as his siblings, Dr. John A.R. (Michelene) Marino and Dolores Marino.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 26 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter R.C. Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY 14092.
