
Carol Lee Decker, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on May 22, 2025, at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility. Born in Peckville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Olga (Pleskan) Bliss.
Carol was a graduate of Suffern High School in Suffern, NY. On October 22, 1966, she married John J. Decker, Jr. in Middletown, NY, and the family moved to the Niagara Falls area in 1973. Carol earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Registered Nursing at Niagara County Community College. She was employed for 23 years as a Registered Nurse at Kenmore Mercy Hospital in the Cardiac Care Center ICU until her retirement.
Carol loved flowers and was an avid gardener. She was also a fantastic baker and enjoyed sewing. Carol was the queen of sarcasm and had a great sense of humor. More than anything, she cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 58 years, Carol is survived by her children, Sean M. Decker and Christine M. (Bryan) Lange; her grandchildren, Tyler J. Decker, Joseph M. Decker, Kieran P. Decker, Emily R. (Justin) Hall, Matthew B. Lange, and Lucas John Angelo Lange, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Gary Bliss, Patricia Maraffino, and Barbara Rocchio.
