
Frances C. Koshinski, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on April 11th, 2025, at Ascension Living: Our Lady of Peace in Lewiston, with her loving family present.
Born in Central City, PA, Frances was the daughter of the late Angelo C. and Lena (Barrecca) Rizzo.
Frances moved to Niagara Falls in 1943 and was a 1949 graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
Frances married Stanley C. Koshinski in November of 1952 at Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls.
Frances was a member of St. Leo’s parish, where she served two terms as President of the Rosary and Alter Society. Frances also served as a member of the Apostolic Committee visiting the sick at St. Mary’s hospital and served on the steering committee to organize the parish council.
Frances served as President of the Knights of Columbus Chapter 247 Ladies Auxiliary for two terms and chaired various events over the years.
Frances and her husband Stanley were dedicated to organizing trips to St. Anne De Beaupre in the 1990’s and 2000’s.
Frances worked for ten years at Stauffer Chemical Company in Lewiston from 1950 to 1960, was Manager for Millbrook and Wonder Bread Thrift Store on Military Road in Niagara Falls from 1972 to 1992.
Frances was a devoted wife to her husband of 56 years, Stanley C. Koshinski and a loving mother to son, Robert (Mary) Koshinski, daughter’s Susan (Francis) Hagerty, Mary (Bill, deceased) Gee, and Stephanie Hardy.
Frances especially loved her Grandchildren Robert (Amanda), Jacob (Jessica) and Daniel (Megan) Koshinski. Adam (Felicia), Mitchell (Jessica), Jordan (Jamie) and Ryan (Abigail) Kinney, step Grandchildren William Gee and Cameron (Bailey) Gee. Kayla Hardy and Gabrielle Hardy. As well as her sixteen great-grandchildren.
Siblings, Verna (late Biagio) Grossi, MaryAnn (late Douglas) Pike, and Joseph (Maria) Rizzo; sisters-in-law, Irene (late Harry) Koshinski, Maryanne Koshinski, Debra (late Thomas) Koshinski. Her siblings who preceded her in death include Anthony (Thelma) Rizzo, Adelphine (Tony) Mastrolembo, Nancy (Dominic) Farbo, Angelo (Rose) Rizzo, Samuel Rizzo, Lena (John) Scrivani, Dominick Rizzo (Gilda), Selma (Hamish) Hamilton, and two infants, Saviero and Adolph Rizzo.
Frances has numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who remain.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 14 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin on Tuesday, April 15 at 10:30 AM followed by Frances’ Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Leo’s Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, 14304. Interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/donate/.
