Angela Rizzo, 96, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, of Peregrine Senior Living in Cheektowaga, NY, passed away on February 23, 2025 at McAuley Residence in Tonawanda, NY, under the care of Buffalo Hospice. Born in Glen White, WV, she was the daughter of the late Vance and Anna (Bursik) Mihich.
Angela came to Niagara Falls in 1944 with her family and graduated from Niagara High School in 1945. On January 24, 1948 she married Chester V. Rizzo in Sacred Heart Church. Mr. Rizzo predeceased her on August 12, 2015. Angela was employed for over 20 years by the Niagara Falls Board of Education in the cafeteria at LaSalle Junior High School. Angela was a member of the John Duke Center Travel Club and enjoyed traveling with her husband to Beach Club in Daytona Beach Shores, FL. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and couples and cooking and baking cookies especially for weddings and Christmas for her beloved family.
Angela is survived by her children, Michael (JoAnn) Rizzo and Donna (Ralph) Blenn; grandchildren, Natalie (Mark) Taylor, Adria (Avi) Kempler, Mark Blenn, Lisa (Michael) Miceli and Michelle (Eric) Grossklaus and eleven great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, George (Sandy) Mihich, Mildred (Roger) Hallman and Rose (William) Ferguson.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 27 from 11 – 12 Noon at M. J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 12 Noon. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewison, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Buffalo Hospice, 225 Como Park Blvd, Buffalo, NY 14227, hospicebuffalo.com.
