Ann T. Montgomery (née Petros) passed away in Lancaster, OH, on February 15, 2025. Born on August 14, 1935, she was the daughter of the late James and Rose Petros.
Ann was married to the late Ernest “Ernie” Montgomery for 42 years until his passing in April 2000. They had three sons: Ernest Jr., Daniel, and David. Sadly, Ernest Jr. and David passed away from complications of Muscular Dystrophy.
Ann and Ernie moved to Niagara Falls, NY from New York City so Ernie could work on the Power Project. Ann worked as a telephone operator at AT&T in Amherst, NY, for 38 years prior to retiring in 1994. She was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Leo’s Church, where she worked bingo and volunteered frequently. She also loved traveling. Above all, Ann cherished spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Ann is survived by her son, Daniel (Rebekah); her grandchildren, Kendra, Samantha, Brayden, and Joshua; her great-grandchildren, Colt, Kevin, Lincoln, and Hudson; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Montgomery; and her sister, Rose Petros. In addition to her husband and two children, she was predeceased by three brothers: James, John, and Edward.
Ann’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at her home parish, St. Leo’s Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, on Saturday, April 26, at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Memorial offerings may be made to St. Leo’s Church.
