BEREA, Ohio — Baldwin Wallace University celebrated the achievements of over 220 undergraduate and graduate students during the 2024 BW Fall Commencement exercises in December, bringing the total number of BW students who earned a degree in 2024 to more than 900. The following local college students graduated from Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, in December:
- Jake Zappia of East Amherst, a graduate of Williamsville East High School, graduated with a Master of Business Administration: Strategic Marketing.
- Jackson Allen of Webster, a graduate of Webster Thomas High School, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts: Finance.
Before triumphantly walking across the stage to receive congratulations for their achievements, the graduates, along with their families and friends, listened to an inspiring commencement address by distinguished alumna and global business leader Zarema Jaramillo ’00.
Jaramillo shared that she almost didn’t go to college. But after graduating from BW, she carved out an impressive career in antitrust and competition law, bridging the worlds of international commerce and regulatory oversight with the help and support of important mentors.
The ceremony also featured special recognition for high-achieving undergraduates with honors in three categories: 25 received summa cum laude honors with a cumulative grade point average of 3.90 or higher, 24 graduated magna cum laude with at least a 3.75 GPA and 16 earned cum laude honors with a minimum GPA of 3.60. Additionally, the ceremony acknowledged 16 members of BW’s selective Dayton C. Miller Honor Society and a graduate from the Honors Program for their outstanding scholarly achievements.
