The Niagara County Department of Public Works (DPW) today said four of the county’s parks – Burmaster at Bond Lake, West Canal Marina, Krull and Royalton Ravine, will officially open for the season this Friday, May 24. The parks are open from dawn until dusk. Oppenheim Park, which has undergone significant infrastructure work, will open on Saturday, June 1.
“We are excited to officially open four of our parks and welcome residents for the Memorial Day weekend,” said DPW Commissioner Garret Meal. “And we were just at Oppenheim today and the work is very near completion. This one week delay will ensure the work is fully completed and the park is safe for residents to enjoy.”
Meal said the county has been making significant investments in the parks in recent years and each park offers something different to enjoy.
“If you haven’t been to any of our county parks in a while, I encourage you check them out,” said Meal. “From hiking trails and fishing to playgrounds, splash pads and disc golf, we have a lot to offer.”
Meal added residents can still reserve picnic shelters in the parks for this summer at www.niagaracounty.com/parks though many dates are fully booked.
