Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that a jury has found 39-year-old Londarr S. Ward of Buffalo guilty of four counts of Robbery in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felonies) and one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree (Class “A” misdemeanor). Jurors rendered their decision this afternoon after approximately one hour of deliberations, convicting the defendant of all counts in the indictment against him. 

On February 22, 2021, at approximately 7:38 p.m., the defendant displayed what appeared to be a pistol and forcibly stole cash from the register and scratch-off lottery tickets from the Sunoco store on Union Road in the Town of Cheektowaga.

On February 24, 2021, at approximately 8:39 p.m., the defendant displayed what appeared to be a pistol and forcibly stole cash from the register and scratch-off lottery tickets from the Kwik Fill store on Harlem Road in the Town of Cheektowaga. 

On February 28, 2021, at approximately 8:23 p.m., the defendant displayed what appeared to be a pistol and forcibly stole cash from the register and scratch-off lottery tickets from the Kwik Fill store on Millersport Highway in the Town of Amherst. 

On March 7, 2021, at approximately 7:43 p.m., the defendant displayed what appeared to be a pistol and forcibly stole cash from the register and scratch-off lottery tickets from the Marathon gas station store on Grover Cleveland Highway in the Town of Amherst. 

On March 8, 2021, the defendant was found in possession of lottery tickets reported stolen from the Marathon gas station store on Grover Cleveland Highway while being placed under arrest.

Ward faces a maximum of 50 years in prison when he is sentenced before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. He continues to be held without bail. 

Ward also has a separate pending case for a crime allegedly committed while in pre-trial custody at the Erie County Correctional Facility on the robbery cases. He was arraigned before Justice Boller on an indictment charging him with one count of Assault in the Second Degree (Class “D” felony). 

It is alleged that on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at approximately 10:03 a.m., the defendant assaulted his defense attorney during a meeting inside of the Erie County Correctional Facility on Walden Avenue in the Town of Alden. The defendant punched the victim multiple times with a closed fist, which caused injuries to the victim’s face, left shoulder and chest.

Ward is scheduled to return for a pre-trial conference on the assault case on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. 

DA Flynn commends the Erie County Sheriff’s Office for their work in this investigation as well as the various police agencies involved in his pending criminal case. 

The robbery cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Hilarie L. Henry of the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Bethany A. Solek of the Vehicular Crimes Bureau. The assault case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Briana R. D. Kalman of the Felony Trials Bureau.
