  • Numerous Vehicle & Traffic Law violations

It is alleged that on Monday, January 22, 2024, at approximately 7:48 p.m., Tonawanda Police officers responded to Dupont Avenue for a report of a stolen Ford F-150 truck, which had been taken from the victim’s driveway after a key was left inside of the vehicle.

During the investigation, a Town of Tonawanda Police officer observed the defendant enter the stolen vehicle, which was parked in a driveway of another residence on the 1400 block of Sheridan Drive. The defendant allegedly drove the vehicle in reverse at a high-rate of speed and intentionally hit the occupied police patrol vehicle. The officer allegedly exited the patrol vehicle during the incident while ordering the defendant to stop. After allegedly causing damage to the front bumper of the police vehicle, the defendant is accused of recklessly driving through a front lawn then proceeded to travel onto Sheridan Drive in an attempt to flee police. The defendant, who was allegedly operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license, was later taken into custody by New York State Police following a pursuit.

Reeves is scheduled to return on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. for a felony hearing. Prosecutors requested that the defendant be remanded. He was held on bail set at $10,000 cash or $50,000 bond.

If convicted of the highest count, Reeves faces a maximum of 7 years in prison.

Reeves is scheduled to be arraigned later this week on charges in a separate criminal case. It is alleged that on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at approximately 8:10 p.m., the defendant, while acting in concert with co-defendant 20-year-old Kenneth L. Craig of Buffalo, stole the victim’s property, which was inside of a locker at a fitness facility on McKinley Parkway in the Town of Hamburg. Reeves was allegedly found in possession of the victim’s wallet, credit cards and keys.

Reeves was charged with one count of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree (Class “E” felonies) and one count of Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree (Class “A” misdemeanor). He was issued an appearance ticket to be arraigned before Hamburg Town Court Justice Gerald P. Gorman on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. Craig is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.

Reeves currently has three additional pending criminal cases.

On November 4, 2023, Reeves and three co-defendants were arraigned for their alleged involvement in another stolen vehicle-related case. All four defendants were charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “C” violent felony), one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree (Class “D” felony), one count of Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, one count of Resisting Arrest and one count of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree (Class “A” misdemeanors).

It is alleged that on Friday, November 3, 2023, at approximately 4:20 p.m., the defendant was the passenger of a stolen vehicle when New York State Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop on East Delavan Avenue in the City of Buffalo. The accused operator of the Jeep allegedly refused to stop and hit multiple vehicles during the pursuit. All four defendants allegedly fled on foot after the damaged Jeep lost a wheel in the area of Hertel Avenue and Wallace Avenue. A loaded, illegal handgun was allegedly recovered during the investigation.

Reeves and his co-defendants were held without bail following the arraignment. As the recovered weapon was allegedly found in a yard, DNA analysis was necessary to prove possession of the illegal gun. Therefore, our office was not able to run the felony hearing. Reeves was subsequently released on his own recognizance. The case is scheduled to return on before Buffalo City Court Judge Diane Y. Wray on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.

Our office will be filing a motion pursuant to CPL 510.10(4)(t) to request that the Court revoke his release and hold the defendant without bail on the pending gun case for allegedly committing a felony involving harm to an identifiable person or property while he was released on a pending felony charge.

It is also alleged that on Friday, July 21, 2023, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the defendant unlawfully remained inside of an apartment of the 2900 block of North Forest Road in the Town of Amherst. The defendant had been previously banned for trespassing on the property.

Reeves was charged with on one count of Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree (Class “A” misdemeanor). He was given an appearance ticket to be arraigned on August 9, 2023, but failed to appear. On October 19, 2023, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to appear for rescheduled arraignment dates in September and October.

It is further alleged that on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at approximately 6:00 a.m., the defendant intentionally exposed the intimate part of his body in a lewd manner. The alleged crime occurred in the presence of a victim at a common area gym at an apartment building on the 2900 block of North Forest Road in the Town of Amherst. The victim reported the incident to police.

When Reeves was later identified as the suspect, he was charged with one count of Public Lewdness (Class “B” misdemeanor) and issued an appearance ticket to be arraigned on September 20, 2023. A bench warrant was issued after he failed to appear for an arraignment.

Reeves is scheduled to return to Amherst Town Court on both files on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. for further proceedings. He was released on his own recognizance as the charges are non-qualifying offenses for bail.

DA Flynn commends the Town of Tonawanda Police Department, New York State Police, Town of Hamburg Police Department, Amherst Police Department and the Buffalo Police Department for their work in these investigations.

The stolen vehicle cases are being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Megan E. Mahoney of the Felony Trials Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
