ORCHARD PARK – Erie County Sheriff John Garcia reports one arrest during Sunday’s detail at Highmark Stadium.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. on 1/21/24, patrol stationed at the intersection of Abbott Rd. and Southwestern Blvd. was approached by the operator of a food stand. The complainant stated that an individual, later identified as Max Orphanides, 31, of East Syracuse, had stolen items from his stand. As patrol approached Orphanides to investigate, he became confrontational and irate. As patrol attempted to detain Orphanides, he resisted.

Orphanides has been charged with the following:

• Petit larceny (Class-A misdemeanor)
• Resisting arrest (Class-A misdemeanor)
• 2nd degree Obstructing governmental administration (Class-A misdemeanor)

Orphanides was issued an appearance ticket and released.
