Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, in preparation for the anticipated winter storm blowing into Western New York, pre-emptively signed a State of Emergency Declaration for Erie County effective as of 9 a.m.
Poloncarz explained that “this will allow us to move resources and hire specialized contractors prior to the lake effect snow and high winds commencing. Our Emergency Operations Center will open at noon.”
