William ‘Bill’ LaChance, 74, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 in N.F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late René and Dorothy (McClintock) LaChance; and the beloved husband of Patricia (Gaetano) LaChance, who he married on October 20, 1973 at the former Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

Bill graduated from Niagara Falls High School and enlisted in the United States Army in 1969. Upon his honorable discharge, he began working at Great Lakes Carbon for 35 years and served as their Union President prior to its closing. Bill retired as an electrician for Modern Disposal Services, Inc. after many dedicated years.

A standout baseball player as a teenager, Bill continued his play in the local Industrial League and coached his daughters softball teams for several years. He was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Browns.

Bill devoted his life to his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sports games and events.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, Bill is survived by his children, Renee (Joshua) Reynolds, Amanda (John Sebring) LaChance, Karla (Nick) Gwinn, Kimberley (Mike) Kidder and Marc LaChance; his grandchildren, Lauren, Benjamin, Natalee, Lyla, Madelyn, Alexa and Londyn; three siblings, Pamela Johnson, Donna Barron and Marcela Sherman, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
