Duane E. ‘Bullet’ Hawkins, 61, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on November 30, 2023 in Gainesville, NY.  Born in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Richard and Cynthia ‘Cindy’ (Cardinale) Hawkins.

Duane was a graduate of Kenmore West High School.  On September 5, 1986, he married Laura A. (Vankoughnet) Hawkins.  Bullet was employed as a mechanic for the Kenmore Bowling Lanes in Kenmore, NY, and later worked as a mechanic for Munroe Muffler at various sites in Western NY.  In addition, he also was employed as a mill handler for R.T. Jones Lumber Co. in North Tonawanda, NY and in maintenance at the Days Inn in Niagara Falls, NY. 

Duane was a member of the River Road Volunteer Fire Company and later the Union Hook and Ladder Volunteer Fire Company in the City of Tonawanda, NY.  Bullet was a jack of all trades, and enjoyed woodworking and working on his car.  Most importantly, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife of 37 years, Duane is survived by his children, Gina Hawkins (Scott. St. Pierre) and Benjamin Hawkins; his brother, Richard Raymond Hawkins, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was sadly predeceased by his son, Edward (Jacqueline) Hawkins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, concluding with a prayer service at 7 PM.  Interment will be held privately in Hermitage Cemetery, Weathersfield, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to North Java Volunteer Fire Department, 4274 NY 98, North Java, NY 14113 or to Pike Volunteer Fire Department, 67 Main Street, Pike, NY 14130.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
