Rosalia Bissett, 82, of the Town of Wheatfield, NY, passed away on November 30, 2023 at her residence. Born in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Carmella (Miele) Spinella.
Rosalia was raised in Jersey City, NJ, where she graduated from High School. On August 14, 1965, she married her beloved husband, Walter Bissett in Jersey City. Mr. Bissett predeceased her on January 19, 2021. Rosalia was employed with the Bank of New Jersey in Jersey City, where she worked as a teller and also managed the safe deposit boxes. The family later moved to the Niagara Falls Area in 1976.
Rosalia was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and was very active with the any aspect of the parish activities, including volunteering for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, as well as being an active member of the Holy Rosary Society. Rosalia loved to shop, read, and garden. Above all, she especially enjoyed spending time with her family, and caring for her grandchildren.
Rosalia is survived by her children, Walter (Kimberly) Bissett, Jr., Renee Marie (Geo) Henderson and Stephen (Brandy) Bissett; her grandchildren PJ, Amanda, Emily, Trenton, Carmen, Siena, Mila, Kyle & Justin; her great grandchildren, Olivia and Arty; her sister, Marion Spinella, well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband of 55 years, she was predeceased by her sister, Tina Lyons.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 3 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Rosalia’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 4 at 10 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kenmore, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church.
