On Sunday, November 12, 2023, Dorothy Jordan Price entered eternal rest in her home with her family by her side.

Dorothy was born on January 15, 1931 to Hudson Jordan and Zulla Coley in Buffalo, New York. She was one of 18 children and attended Buffalo Public Schools. She was a long time employee of Head Start in various capacities, later moving into roles at Rosa Copeland Nursing Facility, where she retired.

Dorothy married her first husband who is deceased, and from that union, her first daughter, LaDrene Lorraine Ashley was born.

She was an active member of Peoples Community United Church of Christ under the leadership of Derrick Byrd Sr., where she confessed her love for Christ at an early age. There, she met the love of her life, Kenneth Paul Price. From that union, Kimberley Paulette and Kenneth Paul Jr. were born. While at Peoples Community, she was a member of the Chorus and Nurses Guild. After the death of her husband, she later became a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

Dorothy enjoyed many activities throughout her life. She was an active member of Leonard Amvets Post #5 and Emslie YMCA. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, introducing her daughters to the craft. She was also often seen jogging around the track at JFK Park. She was a loving grandmother of five and did not mind watching them no matter what time it was. As a parent, she instilled great values in her children and grandchildren to make sure they achieved their goals. She always celebrated their achievements.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, 16 siblings, husband and great-grandson, Derek Delk. She leaves to cherish her memories to her children: LaDrene Ashley, Kimberley (Randall) Billups, and Kenneth Paul Jr.; grandchildren: Kevin Queener, Dawn Ashley, Randall II (BB), Kaylyn and Kenneth Paul III; great grandchildren: Shaquida (Justin) McGee-Young, and Shacara Ashley; six great-great grandchildren; sister, Idella Counts; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 20, 2023, 11 AM at Friendship Baptist Church, 402 Clinton Street, Buffalo, New York 14204. Funeral to follow at 12 PM. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
