On November 5, 2023, SP Machias Troopers arrested Shane A. Rak, 39, of Lexington, SC for Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree, and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree.
During a traffic stop on State Route 39 in the town of Yorkshire, Troopers observed Rak exhibiting obvious signs of intoxication and determined he had been operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition. Rak failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. He was then arrested and transported to SP Machias, where he refused to submit to a chemical breath test.
Rak was released with appearance tickets for Yorkshire Town Court, where he is due to appear later this month.
