The Canisius golf team closed out its 2023 fall schedule on Tuesday by finishing tied for seventh in the 10-team Sacred Heart Fall Classic at Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn. The Golden Griffins posted a team-score of 311 on Tuesday to finish the 54-hole tournament with a three-round score of 936, which tied the team with Hofstra for seventh place.

Freshman Alex Schickling shot a 78 on Tuesday to finish the tournament with a score of 229. He was one of four players in the field to tie for 17th on the individual leaderboard. Junior Ryan Edholm closed out the fall season with a two-over score of 74, as he tied for 28th in the event with his three-round tally of 234. Freshman Jake Dantonio carded a 76 in the final round, as he tied for 32nd in the field with a tournament score of 236.

The host Sacred Heart Pioneers won the team title of their tournament after the team finished with a score of 865, which was one-over par for 54 holes, and five strokes better than second-place Rhode Island. Rhode Island’s Bryson Richards won individual medalist honors after he posted a three-under par score of 69 on Tuesday. Richard’s tournament score of 213 was three-under for the event, and one stroke better than second-place finisher, Sacred Heart’s Marcus Lim.
