Canisius rowing head coach Kerri Brace was appointed to the NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Committee, the NCAA announced on Thursday. Her term will begin immediately and run through Aug. 31, 2025.

“I’m honored and excited to be elected as a member of the NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Committee” Brace said. “I look forward to working with, and learning from the incredible coaches and administrators who currently work so hard to make sure our student-athletes are getting a healthy, positive and memorable experience as Division I rowers.”

In her new role, Brace will assist with the administration of the 2024 and 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Championship. The 2024 edition is slated for May 31 – June 2, 2024 in East Fork/Harsha Lake in Bethel, Ohio. Brace will also meet with the committee regularly to discuss ways to grow the sport and help enhance the student-athlete experience.

“I am delighted for coach Brace to represent Canisius and the MAAC on this prestigious committee” senior associate athletic director/SWA Lisa Liotta said. “Her work within the Western New York rowing community will be a great asset to help enhance the student-athlete experience, grow the sport and the NCAA Women’s Rowing Championship”.

This is not Brace’s first time on a rowing committee as she has also served on the New York State Collegiate Rowing Association since late 2022. In her role, Brace represents the organization and works with other members of the NYSCRA board to formulate ways to grow collegiate rowing through educational events and races throughout New York state.
