A retired Office Manager with over 30 years of service at Sodexo, Dorothy J. Dixon, passed away at Elderwood Health Care at Cheektowaga, at 87 years of age.

Serving at Sedexo, which was formerly known as Marriott Management Services and Service Systems at the start of her career there, Dorothy, was always the friendly smiling face in the office.

Besides enjoying her job for so many years, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, and always taking time to attend all the events they participated in. She also found time to excel at Bowling, doing puzzles, appreciating flower gardens, loving dogs,(even though she did not have one), the Yankees, and the Hallmark Channel, as well as being a big fan and supporter of the former Wardenski’s Deli.

She was predeceased by her best friend and the love of her life, her cherished husband, the late George J. Dixon, Jr.

Dorothy was the devoted mother of Kathleen Dixon and George J. (Kelly) Dixon III.

The proud grandmother of Matthew (Lisa) Dixon, Amanda (Colin) Rose, and Thomas Dixon and great-grandmother of Kaden, Sydney and Lincoln Dixon.

Born on Saturday, June 27, 1936, the second daughter of the late John Gromek and the late Frances (nee Romek) Gromek and the dearest sister of Chester (Molly) Gromek, and the late John (late Helen) Gromek, late Edward (late Jean) Gromek, late Stanley (late Rita) Gromek, late Joseph (late Celeste) Gromek and the late Mary (late Leonard) Bartlomiejczak.

She was also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
