On October 10, 2023, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation out of SP Clarence arrested John E. Dziedzic, 71 of Clarence, NY for NY Corrections Law 168 F2 – Level 3 Sex Offender Failing to Provide a Photo (E Felony), NY Corrections Law 168 F4 – Sex Offender Failing to Update Address (E Felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child- 2 counts.

On October 9, 2023, Troopers received a complaint of a suspicious incident at the Village Haven Inn on Main Street in the town of Clarence. Investigation determined that Dziedzic approached a 16- and 14-year-old, offering them money, marijuana and candy if they stay with him in his room. It was determined that the victims did go into his living area.

Dziedzic was arrested and processed at SP Clarence. Dziedzic was arraigned at the town of Clarence and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center without bail.

NYSP Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Buffalo Parole Office, Erie County District Attorney’s Office assisted in this investigation.

Dziedzic is on parole for Murder 2nd degree charge from 1980 (City of Tonawanda) and was on the sex registry from a prior rape and kidnapping arrest in 1976 (NYSP SP Batavia).
