LOCKPORT — Sheriff Michael Filicetti announces the arrest of 24-year old Raymond R. Brooks, an incarcerated individual at the Niagara County Correctional Facility.
On September 28,2023, Brooks reported that he was the victim of a sexual assault by a Corrections Officer at the Niagara County Correctional Facility. After an investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau it was determined that Brooks’ allegations were false.
Brooks was charged with one count of Falsely Reporting an Incident 3rd (A-Misdemeanor) and was issued an appearance ticket for Town of Lockport Court.
Sheriff Filiceti said, “We will continue to thoroughly investigate allegations and if proven false criminal charges will be filed. My officers have a difficult job and should not be subjected to baseless complaints.”
