New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced today on her social media accounts that she was directing the New York State Liquor Authority to extend the deadline for bars to apply for special licenses to serve alcohol before 10 a.m. on Sunday.

While the deadline to apply for early-morning service is typically 15 days, Hochul has asked the SLA to make an exception and accept applications up until Friday.

The application can be found on the SLA’s website at https://sla.ny.gov./other-permits, however it cannot be filed online. It must be mailed or otherwise delivered to the State Liquor Authority.
