Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 54-year-old Bradley K. Hudak of Orchard Park pleaded guilty yesterday afternoon before State Supreme Court Justice Debra Givens to one count of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree (Class “C” felony) and one count of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree (Class “D” felony). The defendant pleaded guilty to the highest sustainable charges.

Between on or about January 2018 and June 2022, the defendant fraudulently obtained approximately $269,272.92 from the retirement account of an elderly family member who also resides in the Town of Orchard Park. The defendant, who was the victim’s power of attorney, withdrew funds from the retirement account and transferred the money to his personal bank accounts. The defendant also fraudulently obtained approximately $10,000 from the victim, which had been designated to a pre-paid funeral expense account.

In addition, the defendant, while working as the coach of the former “Southtowns Shock” team, admitted to stealing more than $3,000 from the little league baseball team’s bank account. The defendant used the money from team fees to pay for his own personal expenses.

As part of his guilty plea today, Hudak signed a Confession of Judgment to pay full restitution of $279,272.92 to the elderly victim.

Hudak faces a maximum of 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. He was released on her own recognizance.

DA Flynn commends Officer Kelly Wyrough of the Town Orchard Park Police Department for her work in this investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Brian P. Dassero of the Special Investigations and Prosecutions (SIP) Bureau.
