On September 21, 2023, SP Machias Troopers arrested Steven M. Griffis, 36, of West Valley, NY for Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree.
During a traffic stop on Ashford Hollow Road in the town of Ashford, Troopers determined Griffis had provided a false identity.
Griffis was arrested and arraigned on an outstanding warrant issued in Allegany County, where he was released on his own recognizance. He is due to appear in Ashford Town Court in October. He was turned over to the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office on their warrant.
