Canisius junior goaltender Jordan Spencer was recognized by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference as the league announced its Bob McClusky Insurance Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards on Monday.
Spencer was named the league’s defensive player of the week for the second straight week due to her two appearances versus Detroit Mercy and Youngstown State.
Spencer did not allow a goal in the 180 minutes she played stopping all six of Detroit Mercy’s shot attempts and all three of Youngstown State’s shot attempts, extending her shutout streak to three games.
Canisius (1-1-2) returns home Thursday with a matchup against Buffalo. Opening kickoff for the contest between the Griffs and Bulls is set for 6 p.m. at the Demske Sports Complex.
