MOON TOWNSHIP, PA –Giovanni Covelli scored his first goal as a Purple Eagle as Niagara (0-1-1) earned a 1-1 draw at Robert Morris in Sunday non-conference action.

How it Happened
Robert Morris would outshoot Niagara to start the contest, but it was the Purple Eagles who found the back of the net first as Piecarlo Arghittu connected with Giovanni Covelli for NU’s first goal of the season in the 37th minute.

Asher Barnes nearly gave Niagara a 2-0 lead moments before the half but his attempt went wide right.

Robert Morris would keep the pressure on Niagara goalie Jamie Barry to start the second half, taking six shots before finally beating the Niagara goalie for the equalizer in the 68th minute of play.

Barnes would once again send an a-plus effort on goal in the 80th minute, but his attempt found the crossbar. Brady McNulty would collect the rebound and take a shot, but the Colonial goalie was there for the stop.

Landon Hungerford would put the final shot on goal for Niagara in the 84th minute but it would be corralled by the RMU keeper, keeping the game tied at 1-1.

Barry would stop two shots after surrendering the equalizer to send NU home with a draw.
