The New York State Police conducted an underage drinking initiative in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties on August 23, 2023.
The initiative consists of testing retail sellers of alcoholic beverages, by having underaged undercover operatives, under direct State Police supervision attempt to purchase alcohol.
This is conducted to ensure compliance with the NYS Penal Law and ABC Law restrictions on selling alcohol to minors. Nine establishments were checked in both counties and the following were charged with Prohibited Sale of Alcohol to a Person Under 21: Andarrel M. Allen, 41, Marlenys Y. Velazquez, 21, Nicholas C. Crossley, 26, Lori A. Gianetti, 60, all of Jamestown, NY.
