Florence A. Archie, 85, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on August 22, 2023 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Ignazio and Rita (Cichelli) Valente; and beloved wife of 44 years to the late Samuel L. Archie, who passed away January 20, 2017.
Florence graduated from Lewiston Porter High School as salutatorian of her class. She formerly owned and operated Valente’s… for the Bride in Niagara Falls in the 1960’s and 1970’s. After selling the bridal shop, Florence worked for American Greeting Cards, servicing numerous businesses throughout Niagara County.
Florence was an excellent cook and baker, famous for her delicious cheesecakes and banana pies. She centered her life around her family and friends, and especially enjoyed the time spent with her nieces and nephews.
Florence is survived by her sister, Mary (late Anthony) Piccirillo; Aunt Flossie to her nieces and nephews, Joseph Piccirillo, Diane Piccirillo, Donna (John) Sanchez, Barbara (Phil) Noble, Toni Ann Teresa, Richard (Kristie) Yamonaco, Renee (Charles) Demski, Frank (Darlene) Valente, David (Kari) Valente, and many great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Minnie (late Anthony) Yamonaco, Francis (late Rita) Valente, infant brother, Frank Valente; her nephew, James (Debbie) Yamonaco; and her sister-in-law, Mamie (late Elwood) Channell.
