On August 21, 2023 at approximately 6:55pm, Troopers out of SP Fredonia arrested Nicole S. Mott, 31, of Sheridan, NY for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated With a Child (Leandra’s Law).

Troopers responded to a 911 call about a vehicle off the roadway on Fredonia Stockton Road in the town of Pomfret.  Troopers located the vehicle and observed Mott at the wheel and a 11-year-old child passenger.  Mott stated that she attempted to make a u-turn and got ‘sucked’ into the ditch

During the interview with Mott, Troopers noted signs of impairment including watery, bloodshot eyes and failure of standardized field sobriety tests at the scene.  The child was safely turned over to a family member.

Mott was arrested and processed at SP Fredonia, where a chemical breath test revealed her to have a .14% BAC.  She was issued vehicle and traffic tickets and transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
