Lloyd A. Potter, 98, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Roy and Isobel (Williams) Potter.

Lloyd moved to Niagara Falls with his family as a child and graduated from LaSalle High School. During World War II, he proudly served in United States Navy on the USS LeRay Wilson (DE-414) until his honorable discharge on April 10, 1946, as Sonarman Second Class.

Lloyd married his beloved wife, Anna (Soares) Potter on May 9, 1953 in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. They spent 60 memorable years together until her passing in 2013.

Lloyd spent 42 dedicated years at EI DuPont, where he was employed as a technologist in the electrical management department for the majority of his career.

Lloyd was a longtime member of the Golden Age Center on Grand Island for many years. He was also an avid fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially on the annual Potter Fishing Trip to Lake Nipissing in Canada.

Lloyd is survived by his sons, Douglas (Catherine) Potter and David (Diana) Potter; his grandchildren, Danielle (Christopher) Mesi and David, Anna, Camila and Diana Potter; his great-grandson, Giovanni Mesi, as well as several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Lawrence Potter, Evelyn Hawkins, Gertrude Mannarino and Dorothy Rosino.

Lloyd’s family would like to thank the homecare aides who lovingly took care of their father. A special thank you as well to Lloyd’s neighbors for always looking out for him and providing a helping hand.

Visitation will be Monday, August 21 from 10 – 11 AM in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 616 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, followed by Lloyd’s funeral service at 11:00 AM. Military honors and interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice or St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Arrangements by M.J.
