NIAGARA FALLS — Daredevil Records has partnered with Rusty Nickel Brewery to create an easy-drinking American Ale, while spotlighting the Niagara Falls neighborhood. This beer will be available in participating establishments in the Niagara Region, who are also featured on the beer’s artwork.
The artwork is a birds-eye interpretive view of the “Niagara Falls Neighborhood” featuring buildings from Niagara Street, Third Street, Pine Ave and Lewiston, and other Niagara Falls icons such as Polly King painting. The concept of the design was to connect our neighborhood, which is all accessible by foot, the Discover Niagara Shuttle or the Sight See scooter rentals. The beer’s artwork was created by local artist, NCCC illustration student Sheila Forbes.

The beer, Niagara Falls Neighborhood American Ale (the “Neighborhood Ale”), 4.5% ALC/VOL., was created by April Wheaton, a Niagara Falls resident, who is the assistant brewer at Rusty Nickel Brewing Co in West Seneca, NY. Her love for the industry and dedication to strengthening community brought her into her role as the chapter leader of the Pink Boots Society Buffalo, a global non-profit focused on assisting, inspiring and encouraging women and non-binary individuals in the fermented beverage industry.

Focused on the art of bringing people together and passion for the city she calls home,  she brought the idea to the team at Rusty Nickel, and the Niagara Falls Neighborhood  American Ale was born.

The beer will be available in 16 oz. cans or on draft in the following participating venues:

  • Daredevil Records, 324 Niagara Street
  • The GoldBar, 435 3rd Street

“The Discover Niagara Shuttle is a catalyst for economic growth in our region, and we’re happy to be able to provide transportation to these small businesses in  the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area that want to celebrate our community  through this beer initiative. There are great things happening here, and hopefully  this collaboration shines a light on that.” – Niagara Falls National Heritage Area

This FREE beer crawl includes first access to the Neighborhood Ale and a branded cup  for each crawler. Every participating venue will have a specialty shot available for  purchase. Johnnie Ryan Soda will also be available throughout the night as a non alcoholic option. Traveling entertainment will be provided by John Dudley, who will  make a stop at each crawl location.

Meet Jessica (Daredevil Records) and April (Rusty Nickel) at Daredevil Records at 5pm  on Thursday, August 3rd, as they will lead the Beer Crawl throughout the neighborhood.  You can also join the crawl any time throughout the night at any participating venue.
