On June 24, 2022, at approximately 10:51 a.m., New York State Trooper Adam Moen, SP Niagara, was dispatched to Four Mile Creek State Park in the Town of Youngstown, for a report of an 8-year-old child stranded on a steep 20’ ravine on the edge of Lake Ontario.

Trooper Moen quickly responded and located the victim on the shore below the ravine. Using a nearby rope, Trooper Moen rappelled down the ravine to the child, calmed the young boy, and helped him up the ravine to safety. The child, of Grand Island, NY,  was uninjured and returned to his parents who were waiting at the top of the ravine.
