Peter J. Lambert, 47 of Grand Island, NY passed away on May 14, 2023 at Buffalo Mercy Hospital. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he was the son of Margaret (Campbell) and the late James Lambert. He later lived in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis until he was 17 before returning to Edinburgh. He also lived in London and shortly after trained at Solomon Brothers in New York City where he ultimately made his home. It was in NYC on New Year’s Eve of 2003 that he met the love of his life. On July 7, 2007 he married Robin M. (Butera) Lambert.   

Peter attended Edinburgh University receiving Computing Science Honors and a Master’s Degree from Oxford University. Peter was employed as Head of Equity Derivatives Technology at Nomura Securities in Manhattan, New York City. He was previously employed at numerous companies in New York City, including Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Citadel and Tweedale Advisors.  

Peter was an avid golfer and a member of the River Oaks Golf Club, as well as the Stornoway Golf Club and the Isle of Harris Golf Club. He was a proud member of the Heart of Midlothian Football Club, Arsenal Football Club Supporter and Stornoway Athletic Football Club. He played for many teams in London as well as the Fury and Central Park Rangers Football Clubs in NYC. He was a dedicated fan of the NY Giants and NY Yankees. Peter’s greatest role was that of a loving husband, father, son, brother, godfather, uncle, nephew and friend. He was a pillar of strength and a constant source of compassion, integrity, and perseverance to his friends, wife and children. Above all he cherished every moment spent with his family and especially enjoyed supporting his children, John and Juliana, at all of their many activities and events. He was their protector, their guide and their biggest cheerleader.  

In addition to his mother, Peter is survived by his wife Robin Lambert, his children, John Salvatore Lambert and Juliana Susanne Lambert; his siblings, Susan (Careywyn Connolly) Lambert and Margaret Hawkinson; niece, Sara Hawkinson, goddaughter Charlotte Smyth; aunts and uncles Ina MacLeod, Angus Campbell, Annie Smith, Cathy Hardy (deceased), James and Dolly Darling, Peter and Lillian McArter and many cousins. Peter was the son-in-law of the late Suzanne and Salvatore Butera.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Peter’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 A.M. at St. Stephen’s Church, 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, a fund will be established and shared at a future date to support his children’s education.
