NIAGARA FALLS — On May 6, 2023, The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call reporting that a suspicious male was in possession of a gun. The male was reported to have stated that he was going to shoot someone. The male was originally reported to be in the area of Hyde Park Blvd in the Town of Niagara. Initially, Patrols were unable to locate the male. A short time later, the male was reported to be near Niagara Ave and Sixteenth St in the City of Niagara Falls.

Patrols arrived and spoke with the male, Rondell G. Levick (35 years of age) of Niagara Falls, briefly, before he attempted to flee. Levick was subsequently taken into custody and found to have an illegal loaded handgun on him.

Levick was then transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital to assess for injuries. While at the hospital, Levick escaped custody, and was quickly taken back into custody.

Levick was charged with the following: Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Escape 2nd, Criminal Contempt 2nd, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree and 2 counts of Resisting Arrest. Levick was brought to the City of Niagara Falls Police Department to await arraignment in the City of Niagara Falls on all charges.
