
Anthony ‘Tony’ Earl Walker entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 1, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. Anthony was born to the late Eugene T. Walker Sr. and Lydia Walker on July 10, 1967, in Niagara Falls, NY.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed traveling. Anthony attended local schools and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. Anthony always valued the importance of higher education. He received several certificates and college degrees throughout his life.
Anthony also served in the United States Navy as an Operations Specialist during the years of 1984 to 1992. Upon being discharged from the Military, Anthony received a certificate in Electronics Technology from Virginia’s ECPI College of Technology. He later attended Norfolk State University and received an Electronic Engineering Degree. Anthony later relocated to Buffalo and enrolled in the IBEW Local 41 as a Journeyman Apprentice. He completed all required courses and graduated in 2007. Following graduation, he became employed by Local 41 as an Electrician until 2016 when he became ill.
Despite his illness, Anthony enrolled at the University of Buffalo, where he acquired his Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He returned to the workforce in 2020, working for the Department of Labor as an Economist until his death.
In addition to his mother, Anthony’s humor and unfailing kindness will be sorely missed by his devoted longtime companion and wife, Valerie Herds-Walker, children: Adriane Wallace of Niagara Falls, NY, Brittany (Kyle) Bethea of Buffalo, NY, Corrine (Dominic) Ligammari of Pittsburgh, PA, one son: Aaron Walker of Detroit MI, one bonus daughter: Shacole Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA, one brother: Charles Ray Littlefield of San Antonio, TX, two sisters: Delois (Tony) Moore and Sharon McDougald of Niagara Falls, NY. Grandchildren: Olivia, Tia, Nyomi, Noah, Lillian, Darnell, Centuri, Hilton Jr., two Aunts: Diane Buck of Pensacola, Fl and Georgie O’Neal of San Antonio TX; one uncle, Huey Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was pre-deceased by his father Eugene T. Walker, Sr, and brother Eugene T Walker Jr.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 11 from 11 – 12 Noon at True Bethel Baptist Church, 1112 South Avenue Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 12 Noon.
