BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women’s lacrosse team fell short this afternoon in their battle with the Medaille Mavericks by a final score of 14-8 at the Medaille Sports Complex.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE

  • Emilee Josker (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) led the Bengals with three goals in the effort.
  • Sarah Fineour (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East) and Vanessa Willick (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East) each picked up two goals.
  • Lauren Rinow (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) picked up her first goal of the season while Fineour, Lindsay Wademan (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy), and Erica Greene (Oswego, NY/Canterbury School) each tallied an assist.
  • Beth Kulikowski (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) and Moira Penot (Clifton Heights, PA/Upper Darby) combined for seven saves in the effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Fineour found the back of the net for the first time this season to get the scoring started.
  • Medaille would respond shortly after with three unanswered goals.
  • Fineour would feed the ball to Josker to bring the Bengals within one.
  • Shortly after with a man-up advantage, Josker found the net again to tie the game 3-3.
  • After Medaille scored two unanswered goals at the end of the first quarter, they would hold the lead into the half as the score stood at 6-5.
  • The Mavericks began to pull away in the third with three more unanswered goals.
  • Buffalo State attempted to chip away, however, the Mavericks offense kept going and they were able to hold on for the win.

FOR THE FOES

  • Kara Anderson scored six times for Medaille while Katelynn Deveans scored five.
  • Tatiana Wright made six saves in the victory.
