Dolores M Monica was born on Thursday, July 2, 1931, in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of the late Ella (nee Maving) and the late Joseph Spahn. She went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the age of 91. After her late husband Edward’s retirement, Dolores began her 15-year career working for M.A. Reich, a downtown Buffalo area Cleaning firm. Dolores was an excellent cook and many will miss her specialties such as Carrot Cake, Shrimp Marinera, and her “Pigs in the Blanket.” She also admired walking at the Marina, Traveling with friends, and especially getting her hair done.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Monica Sr. and was the devoted mother of Carol Young, Donald Monica, Joseph (Jennifer Stossel) Monica, Katherine (Timothy Nicpon) Monica, and the late Edward Monica, Jr., late Anthony Monica, and late James Monica.

A proud grandmother of Candy (Daniel) Faccio, Carolyn (Scott) Wesolowski, Adam (Nicole Gurowicz) Nicpon, Shawn Nicpon, Nicole (Donald) Hartman, and Tiffany Monica, and 14 great-grandchildren.

The loving sister of June (late James) Anzalone, Albert (late Simone) Spahn, and the late Joseph (Helene) Spahn, the late Betty (late Edward) Spahn, late Kenneth (late Patricia) Spahn and the late Robert (late Kathleen) Spahn.

Several nieces and nephews also survived Dolores.

The family will be present on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem) where funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 10 AM.
