Paulette E. (Smith) George, 80, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on February 22, 2023 at Roswell Park Comprehensive Care Center in Buffalo, NY.  Born on July 12, 1942, in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Jerome L. and Helen (Lange) Smith.

Paulette attended local schools and was a 1960 graduate of Niagara Falls High School, and a member of the Zeta Tau Iota Sorority.   As a senior in high school and after graduation, she worked for the law office of Bernard E. Stack & Samuel L. Tavano from 1959 until 1965.  On November 12, 1960, she married Thomas E. George.  She helped her husband in the many restaurants that he owned until 1983, when she began her employment as a legal assistant to F. Warren Kahn, Esq. until 2012.  She loved her position there and the clients were like family to her.  In 2013, she started to work for David G. Boniello, Esq.

Paulette loved spending time with her family, especially cooking their favorite foods and dessert.  It was never an effort – just the biggest joy.  She loved the shopping sprees with her daughter, Kelly and grandchildren.  She always felt blessed to have Michael as a son in-law.  He is a loving husband and father to his family.

Paulette loved the conversations she had daily with her son, Scott.  He was very special to her.  Her daughter-in-law, Amy is a very lovely person who she felt very close to.  They shared special moments together.

Paulette was a huge fan of Syracuse Basketball and Football, and the Buffalo Bills, and enjoyed talking to her family about all of the games.  She especially enjoyed the visits with her all of her grandchildren.  Above all else, her family was the love of her life.

In addition to her husband of 62 years, Paulette is survived by her children, Kelly Lynn (Michael) Fitzgerald and Scott T. (Amy) George; her grandchildren, Sullivan M. (Grace) Fitzgerald, Ryleigh S. (Matthew) Limina, Alexandra Brown and Megan DiBerardino; her great-grandchild, Lily, who she was able to share 5 months of her life with; her brothers-in-law, Michael (Karen) George, Joseph K. (Patricia) George, her cousin Laura Schmahl of Lighthouse Point, FL, who was like a sister to her, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her sister, Theresa (Ronald) Jerla, and her brother-in-law, Samuel (Margaret) George.

Private services were held for the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Roswell Park Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, https://give.roswellpark.org/ (specify Leukemia and Lymphoma Society under ‘Select a Program’ – ‘Other’).  Arrangements by M.J.
